Love Still Is
I hope to write a song of hope
With truth to cajole broken heart
For you till the tears depart .
A song to soothe your eyes
Wash your tears with unfeigned wine
So you can construe
A stitch in time saves nine.
Nothing is lost my brothers and sisters
You've got all you need to break on through
To the other side of sorrow
Where deliverance is due.
With arms open wide
He will never hide
Is it Him you need the most?
Then believe nothing is lost.
Believe that love still is
May not be in someone's eyes
But love still is.
Is your heart broken?
Are your dreams stolen?
Have you been forsaken
By someone you loved?
Then repress the past and cherish the present
And rejoice in the future
Because love still is.
The love that calms the darkest storms
And then the sun shines again.
When you behold a hurting soul
Causes you to feel the pain.
The love that urges you to give
When you are wronged you must forgive.
The love that makes your heart bigger
When you stretch your hands to help the poor.
May not be in someone's eyes
But love still is.
When you see someone hurt like you
Helping them is all you want to do.
I was hurt hence I tell you
There is so much more to hold on to.
You may not find it where you are searching for
The one you love may not adore
But I want to say that love still is.
The love in nature don't you to see?
The Divinity that made Beauty.
That love is in music don't you see?
A melodious note breaking you free.
The love that lies in the needy eyes
Of the child who'll bless you for a bowl of rice.
That love is in me as I pen these lines
As I seek to explore the golden mines
Which are lost inside you.
I will help you find if you let me to.
That love is in you when you will share
To a suffering soul what this song declares.
May not be in someone's eyes
But love still is.
That love is in you, that love is in me
The love by the Lover we cannot see.
The Lover who made you and me
The Lover who can make the mountains bleed
For you
Just pray and ask and you'll hear Him sing
Oh how He loves you more than anything.
You are the one whom He has endeared
But you didn't look toward Him and feared
You cried in pain which you shouldn't have felt
A catastrophe that makes His heart melt.
Oh how He loves you so much!
He longs for your love, your faithful touch.
In His heart is hope:
One day you will open your eyes
See His pure, His perfect love.
And return to where you belong
In His bosom heaven above.
He told me to write this song of hope
Rescue you from the addiction of dope.
He told me to tell you that love still is
May not be in the eyes of the one you love
But love still is.
So open your eyes please brothers and sisters
Open your eyes and see.
God has made you so much more
Than you thought you could be.
Your heart may be broken
Your dreams may be stolen
You might have been forsaken
By someone you loved.
Repress the past to cherish the present
And rejoice in the future
Because love still is.
There is so much more to live for
There is so much more to hold on.
There is so much left to exult again
And go on.
So smile and live your life again
For the great love that still is.
